Care & Cleaning Of Your Jewellery.
Silver Jewellery.
Your item was made with a lot of care and I would like you to be able to keep it looking as good as when you first received it.
All silver will naturally oxidise / tarnish slightly over time, especially if left unworn, so included with your purchase, usually placed in the box under the foam insert, is a small silver cloth. This will be useful for a quick buff every so often to keep a nice shine.
A lot of my designs incorporate texture. When you first receive your jewellery it will have been through several polishing processes. As your item oxidises and develops it’s own patina, this will often enhance the design, as when you use a cleaning cloth, it will highlight the high points and leave the low points, thus forming a beautiful contrast which truly shows the patterns at their best.
If you already own a lot of silver jewellery I would recommend buying a Goddard's Long Term Silver Cloth. They produce an excellent shine, do not cost very much and last a very long time.
Jewellery that has an intentional oxidised finish should only be given a light wipe with a cleaning cloth periodically, as it could remove the colour completely if over cleaned, so care should be taken there.
Please be aware that certain chemicals found in normal household cleaning products, toiletries, swimming pools etc, can accelerate the tarnishing process, so care should be taken when wearing your jewellery.
